About St.
Louis Nihongo Kyoshitsu
St. Louis
Nihongo Kyoshitsu is a non-profit organization that focuses on teaching
Japanese children Japanese, Math, Culture, History, and Geography. The curriculum follows guidelines
specified by the Japanese Ministry of Education and Science. It is operated by the parents and
supported by Consulate General of Chicago, Japanese Chamber of commerce of St. Louis, and Japan
America Society of St. Louis.
The
International classes of St. Louis Nihongo Kyoshitsu provide an opportunity
for children with other background to learn Japanese as a second language.
Purpose of the
International Classes
The
purpose of the International classes of St. Louis Nihongo Kyoshitsu is to
open the door to local young students in becoming familiar with the
Japanese language and the culture.
The
curriculum is understanding basic conversation and reading and writing
basic Japanese characters.
Students will also learn about Japanese culture and traditions by
attending various activities at St. Louis Nihongo Kyoshitu such as New Year’s Celebration, Field day, Japanese Festival at the
Botanical Garden, Writing an Essay Book, and Special Classes.
Eligibility:
Children from 8-14 years old
(must
know the English alphabet)
Exceptions may be made to include older children

Introduction
10:25AM - 11:40AM
Beginner II 9:00AM - 10:15AM
Beginner I 11:45AM -1:00PM

The academic year has 44-47 lessons per year.
Tuition: Initial Fee $50.00 per student
